Memphis political blogger Nicholas Pegues and his mother were able to attend the 2013 Inauguration of President Barack Obama as ticket-holders on Capitol Hill.

Congressman Stephen Fincher granted two inaugural tickets to Pegues and his mother because of their outstanding service to Memphis children.

While Pegues was in Washington, D.C., his grandmother celebrated her 91st birthday two days after the Inauguration of President Barack Obama

His grandmother last year received a birthday card from Former President George W. Bush.

She received another one from President Barack Obama, both cards were sent at Pegues' request.
