Old Navy accused an innocent woman of check forgery after a cashier keyed in her check information wrong at the checkout counter.

Memphis police responded to a forgery call in The Commons near the Wolfchase Galleria Mall Monday.

The complainant said that someone had created and forged a check using her information.

Old Navy and MPD believed a male and female caught on video surveillance cameras were responsible.

Police announced Friday morning that this entire ordeal was a clerical error on the part of Old Navy.
