Photo Gallery | Middle school collects jeans for homeless teenagers

White Station Middle School wants your worn jeans.

The school recently started a "Jeans for Teens" program as their first campaign for the national organization DoSomething.

Group sponsor and White Station Middle School teacher Donna Nanney said this organization is unique because they do not need a club to participate.

"It is for teens, and run by teens themselves," said Nanney.

The campaigns are designed so that teens do not have out of pocket expenses to join or participate.

Students and teachers from the school encourages anybody to donate gently worn jeans they have outgrown.

The jeans are then dropped off at Aeropostale Stores, who distributes them to Memphis area homeless shelters.

The deadline to drop items off is February 28.

"After the jean collection ends, we are planning a trip to a local humane shelter to play, walk, and wash the animals there," said Nanney.
