Memphis - ORTHOMEMPHIS, a division of MSK Group, P.C., and St. George's Independent School are proud to announce a new sports medicine partnership. This partnership will allow athletes to optimize their sports performance through injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.  

With the recent partnership between ORTHOMEMPHIS and St. George's Independent School, Yusuf Boyd and Hannah Koraly are new additions to the ORTHOMEMPHIS sports medicine outreach department. They are certified athletic trainers who will be on hand at St. George's for practices and games.  Yusuf spent 5 years with the Memphis Grizzlies and last year with the Memphis City Schools. Hannah is a recent graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill who has clinical experience with every sport athletic department. They will work together to ensure that St.

LUVMUD 2011 is being called a success by nearly all accounts.

The organization the puts on the annual race as a fundraiser, Habitat for Hope, was able to raise much needed funds for the next year.

As a second year runner I can tell you, there was a lot more mud.

Bellevue Baptist Church invites you to "A Night at the Movies" at 7:00 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. The evening will feature music and video clips from some of the greatest cinematic composers of our time with the Bellevue Sanctuary Orchestra.  Also, the premiere Josh Stewart's original composition for chorale and orchestra will be presented. Come enjoy this wonderful evening of music at Bellevue!

LUVMUD 5K this weekend at Shelby Farms

This Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and October 9 at Shelby Farms Park, Habitat for Hope is hosting its two day benefit LuvMud 5K and festival.  

It's the second year for the event and this time the group is upping the ante.

Bikes, Bands, and Block Parties to rock Greenline

This Saturday, the Shelby Farms Greenline will celebrate its one year anniversary with the second annual Bands, Bikes, and Block Parties celebration. While the grand opening event a year ago was intended to raise awareness and spark interest, this year’s occasion is much more celebratory in nature. 

The festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with a new double elimination 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Lester Community Center in Binghamton at the western end of the greenline. The tournament will run until 4 p.m.  To sign up, email Matt Farr at mfarr@shelbyfarmspark.org. There is a $20 entry fee per team.

“Dine Out For Autism” September 27 & 29, 2011

Transformations would like to announce  “Dine Out For Autism” event, scheduled Tuesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 29, 2011″  Proceeds from this event will help fund our scholarship program to provide free services to children affected by ASD.  The following restaurants have agreed to donate a percentage of their proceeds for this worthy cause:

  • On The Border – 2766 N. Germantown Pkwy, Memphis – (in front of Wolf Chase Galleria)  – 4 p.m. to close.

County Mayor's Charitable Golf Tournament

County Mayor's Charitable Golf Tournament

Get ready to hit the links with the mayor!  Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell invites you to join him Friday, October 14 at Edmund Orgill Golf Course for the Shelby County Mayor’s Charitable Golf Tournament!

This event annually benefits a Shelby County Elementary or Middle School in need of additional support.  Northaven Elementary School has been selected as this years beneficiary.

The Orgill Golf Course has hosted the FedEx St. Jude Open, US Open, and National Publinx qualifiers.

Lunch and registration begin at 11am with a shotgun start at noon.  For more information call 901-379-7872.
