Cordova High student invited to attend leadership camp | Schools

Deidra Shores, a Cordova High School sophomore, has been selected to attend the 2012 Summer Queens’ Camp for Leadership and Excellence sponsored by Black Girls Rock! Inc.
Deidra will join 49 other African-American girls from across the country for a two-week intensive leadership program. Shores, along with other camp participants, will learn the importance of teamwork, community service and social development.
Launched in 2011 by Beverly Bond, Founder and Executive Director of Black Girls Rock! Inc., the Summer Queens' Camp for Leadership and Excellence works to connect exceptional girls from various backgrounds and provide them life-changing experiences.
Students will bond with each other through leadership challenges and cultivate memorable relationships. The primary focus of this camp is to foster the participants' pursuit of excellence, integrity, self-discipline, and accountability to prepare them to be sound leaders in academics, public service, and civic engagement.
The 2012 Summer Queens’ Camp for Leadership and Excellence will take place July 21 through August 4, 2012 in Rhinebeck, NY.
