Top Chef serves up Big Bad Breakfast

Top Chef Masters contestant Chef John Currence owns a number of restaurants in Oxford, Mississippi.  This weekend I ate at Big Bad Breakfast.   The menu offers breakfast like poached eggs with country ham and oatmeal pancakes with strawberries.  It also offers lunch like burgers, griddle-fried hot dogs and Coca-Cola brined fried chicken.   It's the perfect place to eat brunch.

A Cordova community group is organizing to ensure a local restaurant can’t be turned into a strip club.

Steve Cooper, a Memphis strip club owner, recently filed for a compensated dance permit for his restaurant Stella Marris. In essence, the permit would allow the business to pay dancers. In response, the city council voted for a 60 day moratorium on those permits.

Flapjacks feed a need

Flapjacks feed a need

You can get a free stack of buttermilk pancakes and give to a great charity at the same time.

On March 1,  International House of Pancakes will offer each guest a free short stack, to raise money for the Chidlren's Miracle Network. CMN is dedicated to saving children's lives and fulfilling the dreams of very ill children.

In honor of National Pancake Day, IHOP will give the short stack in hopes that you will leave a donation. By the way, all the money raised stays in the community and benefits CMN programs at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

Last year, IHOP brought in a little more than $2 million on National Pancake Day.
