Title (Max 100 Characters)
Seniors 55 and over are encouraged to bring their favorite covered dish that serves at least eight, to share with the group and entertainers to the annual Lakeland Seniors Holiday Potluck Luncheon. The luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, November 16th at the IH Clubhouse on Canada Road.
There will be a delicious meal, great conversation, door prizes and entertainment provided by the Steppin' Out Dancers. If you missed seeing the Steppin' Out Dancers last year, you don't want to miss seeing them this year!
The Steppin' Out Dancers were started in 1990 by Bill Westbrook and his wife, Bess. The Westbrooks were retired dance teachers with dancing schools for 40 years in the states of TN, AR and MO. When Bill passed away in May, 2006, his daughter Connie Wilbanks took over the classes. The ladies, mostly in their 50, 60 and 70's, take classes each week at the McWherter Senior Center. They make their own costumes and all know 15 to 20 dances each, and learn 2 or 3 new ones a year. The ladies believe tap dancing is great exercise for the body and mind. The Junior group took their Jail House Rock routine to Nashville and even danced on stage at the Ryman Auditorium.
Reservations may be made by email vholland@lakelandtn.org or by phone: 901-867-2717, by Wednesday, November 14th.
