The “Sea of Blue” for Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang is scheduled for late Thursday afternoon.
Staging will take place at 2641 North Hollywood, behind the Burger King Restaurant at 5 p.m.
The procession will leave at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Officers will travel southbound on Hollywood to eastbound Interstate 40 to Walnut Grove, with the procession concluding at the visitation site, Hope Presbyterian Church.
A Memphis Fire Department Ladder Truck, flying the American Flag, will be stationed on the Interstate in the rear of 1062 N. Mendenhall Cove with two Memphis Police Squad cars in a tribute to Officer Martoiya Lang.
Memphis Police Department sergeant Karen Rudolph said that if your travels occur between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. you should expect significance delays.
She advises that motorists should find alternate routes.
Community members have been reminding many of Thursday's "Sea of Blue" on twitter:
The Sea of Blue will pass the Park at 6pm. If visiting #StarryNights, please stay in the left lane (east bound) + let MPD pass in the right.
