Local NAACP celebrates 95 years of service

One local organization is celebrating nearly 10 decades of community outreach by trying to rebrand itself.  The month of June marks the 95th anniversary for the Memphis Chapter of the NAACP.

The organization is using this celebration as opportunity to make people more aware of what they do.  After over nine decades of community support, this group is not only celebrating its history in the city but also introducing a rebranding campaign with the slogan, “You May Need Us. We’re Still Fighting for You. 95 Years of Advocacy. Your Memphis Branch NAACP.”

The goal of this campaign is to build awareness, display the important work and history of the local branch, and highlight the reason why this civil rights and human rights organization is needed.

During this celebration, the NAACP local branch is asking for the support of African American churches and individuals to donate 95 cents per person to the rebranding campaign.
