Man charged with shoplifting $4,000 worth of jeans | Crime
(WMC-TV) - Police say a man made a massive haul during a 2-day shoplifting spree at a pair of Memphis malls.
Orlandra Manning was charged with multiple counts of theft after he was arrested Monday.
Manning allegedly went into the Sears at Wolfchase Galleria earlier this summer and loaded 59 pairs of jeans into a bag earlier this summer, according to court records.
Workers followed the 36-year-old out of the store, but he hopped into a waiting SUV before they could stop him, police said.
Sears employees said Manning got away with more than $3,000 worth of jeans.
But he wasn't done shoplifting, according to investigators.
Manning is accused of trying to steal more than $1,000 in jeans from the Sears at the Southland Mall the following day.
However, Manning wasn't able to evade store workers during the second crime, police said.
He was arrested and later posted bond. However, he was arrested again this month after failing to appear before a judge on unrelated traffic charges, according to court documents.
