Leadership Memphis to Dedicate New Headquarters

MEMPHIS, TN – (February 10, 2012) -- Leadership Memphis joins the growing ranks for  non-profit organizations that call the South Main district home, when it dedicates its new headquarters at 365 S. Main at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 16.  The two-bay space at 356 S. Main will house offices as well as gallery and meeting space.

“We are already getting requests from various groups and organizations interested in using our gallery and meeting space,” said David Williams, president & CEO of Leadership Memphis. “We are thrilled with our new location and pleased that it is available for meetings between our class members, Leadership Memphis alumni and community groups.

The empty Schnucks store on Germantown Parkway in Cordova will be filled soon!

The owners of the Winchester Farmer's Markets plan to renovate the empty building and convert it into the Cordova Farmer's Market International.

The sign is already up on the building, and crews are already working inside. 

 

Free business classes at Memphis Public Library

The Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library will host small business classes that include information on everything from steps to starting and maintaining a business, to legal aspects of owning and operating a small business.

Small Business Start Up: Laws and Taxes

The class will cover the basics of starting a business including legal aspects, incorporation, taxes, and employee issues.

Presenter: Mark Taylor, Senior Counselor, Memphis Office of the Tennessee Small Business Development Centers.

This program is designed to help the potential business owner learn how to purchase a business hassle and scam free.

National Pancake Day Returns to IHOP

IHOP’s seventh annual National Pancake Day will be back on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.  All day long, IHOP restaurants will give each guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes in the hope that they will donate what they would have paid, or more, to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.  This year, the restaurant chain aims to raise $2.7 million for charity, the most ambitious goal to-date.

Eco Expo!

The hugely successful Eco Expo is back with even more exhibitors showing us how to treat our earth more gently with green products, materials, services, and organizations.

Exhibitors will be offering ideas and information, and some will be selling their products and services.
