The restaurant's management anticipates an improved health score Jan. 19 after rating a 73 with a food permit suspension notice Dec. 29.

"Unfortunately, like anything else, we're human," said Lance Hiller, Rain's maitre d'. "We make mistakes."

Starbucks to roll out giant drink size

Starbucks is rolling out it's biggest drink size yet.

The coffee giant will offer its TRENTA size drinks by May in all U.S. coffee shops.

The TRENTA is 31 ounces and will be offered for iced coffee, iced tea and iced tea lemonade drinks.

The new drink will cost 50 cents more than Starbucks current large, the VENTI.

Free 2011 ReadyShelby Emergency Management Calendars are available for distribution. The 2011 calendar sponsored by the Assissi Foundation of Memphis and International Paper contains tips on emergency preparedness appropriate for each month of the year.

Businesses, home-owner associations, churches and non-profit groups are encouraged to distribute these free calendars to residents. Individuals may also stop by any of the county's city halls to pick up a calendar for personal use or to deliver to friends and family.

New YMCA coming to Cordova

"Y-M-C-A!"

Exciting news from the YMCA.  A new branch of the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is opening in Cordova.  It will be called the Cordova Family YMCA.  The building previously known as Cordova Athletic Club has been turned into a YMCA.  It's located at 7950 Club Center Cove and will be open for business starting Thursday, January 6th at 10am.

There are lots of grand opening activities planned for Thursday including an overview of the facility's services and features by the President and CEO of the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South.

Former members of the Cordova Athletic Club, exciting YMCA members and new members will all be welcomed to use the new facility.
