Woman accused of murdering 51-year-old husband | Crime
A Cordova woman is behind bars after she was accused of murdering her own husband, but investigators say this case isn't closed just yet.
Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies aren't releasing much information about this case, but do say they expect to make more saying arrests.
Frederick Matting was killed early in the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Investigators say he had just come home from work when he was gunned down in the 9100 block of Afton Grove Rd.
Deputies say the 51-year-old tried to run away, but collapsed on the scene and died.
While sheriff's deputies searched for the killer, the entire neighborhood was put on lockdown. Neighbors were forced to stay inside their homes for more than five hours.
But after more than a month, investigators have made an arrest. The victim's wife Patricia Matting is behind bars. She's charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit first degree murder.
So far, a court date hasn't been set for Patricia Matting.
